A Brighter
Today held it's second annual Black Tie Gala Saturday,
March 4th at the renowned Rotunda Building in Downtown Oakland.
The Master of Ceremonies was conducted by KTVU’s Frank Somerville. The event was catered by culinary master Patrick David, live music performed by David Martin's House Party, There was a live performance by the beautiful Raiderettes and the Live Auction Show was the highlight of the evening. Steve Raleigh former Channel 4 Weatherman along with his beautiful wife Julie once again created a magical live auction show for the guests.
A Brighter Today Honored California Children Services : MaryJane Lowenthal and Rachel Shimer, And Parent, Advocate and Executive Director of The Epilepsy Foundation Nevah Hirchcorn. Our Corporate Sponsor’s Mr. Scott Fink of The Oakland Raiders and Mr. Edward Downer President of The Mechanics Bank. “I was truly amazed at the generosity displayed this evening. I want to give a special thanks to Julie and Steve Raleigh for flying here all the way from Ohio, just to host the Gala. Additionally, I would like to thank Laura and Patrick David for their significant donation both for our live auction as well as the catering. You both our so very generous and for that I thank you. Pine Ridge winery, your generous wine donation was so much appreciated. Midge Walterhouse of CCC you went above and beyond, Kathy Carey not only a significant Board contributor, but my best friend. And finally Stewart Schweigart thank you for being my co host and truly a class act,” said Founder Tracy Ferguson. A Brighter Today raised over $30,000 which went directly to fund the ABT day and after school programs.
